Foster children and families in the Pope County area will be able to receive support thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Arvest Foundation.
The gift was announced today at the Joseph House in Russellville. Shawn Duncan, Ian Bryan, Jessy Moreno, Tammy Burchett, Tony Warren, and Jason McGee of Arvest Bank were on hand to present the check.

The funds will allow Joseph House of Russellville to purchase:

  • Dinners or gift cards for foster parents
  • Clothing for foster kids
  • Hygiene items for foster kids on an as-needed basis (lice kits, sunscreen, ethnic hair products, etc.)
  • Diapers
  • Baby/toddler equipment (cribs & strollers)

The money will also help to support special occasion items such as sports dues, sports equipment, prom dresses, dance and art lessons, tutoring, and much more.

“We are thankful for the support from the Arvest Foundation,” said Rebecca Barton, president of the Joseph House. “With the funds, we will be able to assist foster families in providing extracurricular activities for their foster kids.”

“On behalf of the Arvest Foundation, we are very pleased to present this grant to Joseph’s House, as it will help provide much needed support for foster families in Russellville,” Moreno said.
